2. Description of Service
ToolForged.io provides free, client-side web tools that run entirely in your browser. Our current tools include:
- Password Generator: Create secure, random passwords with customizable length and character sets
- QR Code Generator: Generate QR codes for URLs, text, and WiFi credentials with SVG and PNG export options
- Image Compressor: Compress JPG, PNG, and WebP images locally in your browser
- Color Tools: Pick colors, generate palettes, and copy color values in multiple formats
All tools operate using client-side JavaScript, meaning your data is processed locally on your device and never uploaded to our servers. We may add, modify, or remove tools at any time without prior notice.
The Service is provided free of charge and may be supported by advertisements.
3. User Responsibilities
By using our Service, you agree to:
Acceptable Use
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms
- Not use the Service in any way that violates any applicable federal, state, local, or international law or regulation
- Not use the Service to generate content for illegal, harmful, or malicious purposes
- Not attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the Service or servers
- Not use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without our express written permission
Responsibility for Generated Content
You are solely responsible for:
- How you use passwords, QR codes, compressed images, or other outputs generated by our tools
- Ensuring generated content complies with applicable laws and regulations
- Verifying the security and suitability of generated passwords for your specific use case
- Testing QR codes before using them in production or printing large quantities
- Maintaining backups of original images before compression
Account Security
While we do not currently require user accounts, if we implement account features in the future, you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
4. Intellectual Property Rights
Our Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by ToolForged.io and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
This includes but is not limited to:
- Website design, layout, and graphics
- Source code and software
- Tool algorithms and implementations
- Logos, trademarks, and branding
- Documentation and help content
Your Content Rights
You retain all rights to content you create using our tools, including:
- Passwords you generate
- QR codes you create
- Images you compress (you must own or have rights to the original images)
- Color palettes you design
Since all processing happens client-side, we never receive, store, or claim any rights to your generated content.
License to Use the Service
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal or commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.
5. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
"AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" Disclaimer
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Warranties of merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Accuracy, reliability, or completeness of content
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
No Warranty for Generated Content
We do not warrant that:
- Generated passwords will be secure for all use cases
- QR codes will scan correctly in all conditions or devices
- Compressed images will meet your quality requirements
- Color palettes will be suitable for your specific design needs
- The Service will meet your specific requirements
You are responsible for testing and verifying all generated content before use.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL TOOLFORGED.IO, ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Loss of profits, data, or use
- Business interruption
- Security breaches resulting from use of generated passwords
- Costs of procurement of substitute services
- Any other damages arising from use or inability to use the Service
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED $100 USD.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ToolForged.io and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any rights of another party
- Your use of generated content
6. Third-Party Services and Links
Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by ToolForged.io.
We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services. We do not warrant the offerings of any of these entities/individuals or their websites.
You acknowledge and agree that we shall not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with the use of or reliance on any such content, goods, or services available on or through any such third-party websites or services.
We may use third-party services for analytics and advertising, as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including but not limited to:
- Breach of these Terms
- Abusive or harmful behavior
- Automated or excessive use that impacts service availability
- Violation of applicable laws
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Since we do not store your tool data, there is no data to delete upon termination.
All provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
8. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Dispute Resolution
Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through:
- Informal Resolution: Contact us first to attempt to resolve the dispute informally
- Binding Arbitration: If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association rules
You agree to waive your right to a jury trial and to participate in class action lawsuits.
Jurisdiction
You agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of the courts located in Delaware for the purpose of litigating all such claims or disputes.
9. Changes to the Service
We reserve the right to:
- Modify or discontinue any part of the Service at any time
- Add or remove tools without notice
- Change features, functionality, or user interface
- Implement usage limits or restrictions
We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Service.
10. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision will be changed and interpreted to accomplish the objectives of such provision to the greatest extent possible under applicable law, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
11. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ToolForged.io regarding the use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
